Wake Up America

A Strange issue...
I've been hearing for years now how everyone must have a hyphenated nationality, Mexican-American, Latin-American, African-American, etc.
Now I may be wrong but, I don't think anyone ever mentioned Americans of Mixed-Mixed race, wow what the hell do we call them???

I must admit, I am a Scottish-Latin-American... (Looks even cooler than those other hyphenated labels, right).
Well, back to the story.. I was watching the evening news two years ago, they were highlighting "Children of mixed race".. I'm thinking that's great! Well, when the segment finally aired, the only people they showed were Black.. The segment touted the "hardships" of these poor kids that had to grow up "Mixed" (they said it like there was something wrong with them), not once did they show other race mixes..
I was crest fallen, I thought we ranked, but nope, we weren't victim enough.

Look, I was brought up in the early sixties, you know, when being prejudice was a status symbol, well, I don't remember paying that much attention to what people said about my heritage, although the word "Half Breed" always came up.

Hmmmm... I prefer Hybred, and that is what I am, Not a victim, a hybred.. Yes, I like that. What say you people of mixed, mixed-mixed, and Mixed-mixed-mixed race? Doesn't it sound better than "Whatever-American"?
